About this event

The Mississippi State Office of Research and Economic Development will host the following three virtual seminars as part of its February series:

How Will You Evaluate Your Project’s Success?, featuring staff from the Social Science Research Center Evaluation Group, from 11 a.m. to noon: Funders want to know how you will define success. A strong evaluation plan allows you to consider how you will determine the effectiveness of the project, thus meeting your and the funder’s goals. During this seminar we will discuss why we evaluate, as well as some methods of and resource for preparing strong project objectives and your evaluation plan.

Writing Your Evaluation Plan, featuring staff from the Research and Curriculum Unit, from noon to 1 p.m.: This session will focus on the elements of a narrative evaluation plan, such as the logic model, evaluation tools and instruments, and measurable criteria. It will also include a discussion on budgeting for the evaluation and sourcing/contracting evaluators.

Presubmission Proposal Review, featuring Katie Echols, ORED executive director of research initiatives and innovation, from 1-2 p.m.: proposals require layers of review such as technical, responsiveness, compliance or “merit” and editorial. This session will focus on putting together a review team for your proposal and evaluating your proposal for responsiveness and compliance with the solicitation.
