About this event
Join us for this practical webinar designed specifically for faculty who want to make their digital course materials more accessible without feeling overwhelmed.
Did you know that 1 in 5 Americans lives with a disability, and roughly 20% of students are considered disabled? As educators at a federally funded institution, we also have a legal obligation under ADA Section 508 to ensure our materials are accessible to all. But beyond compliance, accessibility simply makes learning better for everyone.
In this session, we'll walk through the seven key areas of digital accessibility, including document structure, alt text for images, color contrast, video captions, accessible links, tables and lists. For each topic, you'll get a quick win you can apply the same day and a pro tip to deepen your understanding. Time will also be provided during the webinar to ask questions and discuss ideas surrounding digital accessibility in your course.
