MSU to upgrade anti-spam environment

On Friday [Jan. 25], MSU's anti-spam environment will be upgrading to Microsoft's advanced anti-spam solution.  This is the first step in moving MSU's email environment to Office 365. Beginning Friday, students, faculty and staff will notice the following changes to email delivery:

- Spam will be placed in the "Junk Email" folder regardless of existing client rules

- Users will configure "Safe Senders" and "Blocked Senders" in the Outlook client in lieu of StopSpam

- Users must check the "Junk Email" folder for legitimate email and configure "Never Block . . ." options as appropriate

- Email in the "Junk Email" folder older than 30 days automatically will be deleted

- Web links may now contain safelinks.protection.outlook.com for URL link protection
