Experience the world on April 6 at MSU’s International Fiesta

STARKVILLE, Miss.—Food, music, dance, games and other fun cultural activities await at Mississippi State’s 29th annual International Fiesta.  

Sponsored by the Starkville World Neighbors Association and MSU’s Holmes Cultural Diversity Center, the Saturday [April 6] event takes place from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. on the university’s historic Drill Field.

Campus organizations, clubs and departments will have displays and food booths. Various groups also will provide entertainment in the form of dancing, music performances and singing, as well as a fashion show.

Inflatables and cultural games are among activities that will be available for children.

Ra’Sheda Forbes, MSU’s assistant vice president for multicultural affairs, said she looks forward to the International Fiesta each year because it provides “an opportunity to further knowledge and cultural capital in such a fun and exciting way.”

“This event also is a great opportunity to bring communities together to foster pride in the varying cultures and heritage that exists amongst our student body and surrounding cities,” said Forbes, who also serves as the HCDC’s director. “The bonds that are forged make the fiesta one of the greatest exchanges of relationships and experiences that we have on campus.”
