Opportunities available for undergraduate researchers
Mississippi State has numerous opportunities this year for undergraduate researchers and faculty.
Connect with undergraduates interested in research
The Undergraduate Research and Creative Discovery website is designed to connect undergraduate students seeking research experiences or creative discovery opportunities with faculty who have projects and are interested in undergraduate help. This is open to faculty in all disciplines who are seeking undergraduate researchers. MSU research personnel can submit details about their project, and students can search for available opportunities. Students are seeking opportunities now so please do not hesitate to share your projects. Now is the time to submit (or revise) your entries to the URCD website at www.urcd.msstate.edu.
Questions can be sent to Anastasia Elder, the director of undergraduate research, at ace24@msstate.edu.
Available funding: ORED Undergraduate Research Program
The MSU Office of Research and Economic Development provides small grants of up to $2,000 to foster innovative, faculty-directed research opportunities for undergraduate students. Funds can be used to support student wages, materials and supplies, or for other research related expenses. Applications are being accepted now and are due Sept. 15.
Questions for this program should be directed to Katie Echols at facultysupport@research.msstate.edu. Learn more and apply at www.research.msstate.edu/initiatives/internal-funding.
Research Connections email
There is an MSU Office of Undergraduate Research email, Research Connections, which alerts readers to research opportunities and events available to undergraduate students. To subscribe to this weekly email, visit eepurl.com/h4pCBL.
Additionally, this is a great way to advertise any undergraduate research opportunities. Submit these opportunities to urcd@msstate.edu to have them advertised.
