Starkville-MSU Community Band inviting musicians for the spring semester

STARKVILLE, Miss.—Mississippi State faculty, staff and graduate students, and Golden Triangle residents with previous band experience are invited to join the Starkville-MSU Community Band this spring.
Practice sessions will be held 6:30-8:30 p.m. each Monday during the spring semester at MSU’s Kent Sills Band Hall, located at 72 Hardy Road. Participants must fill out an interest form at www.tinyurl.com/4kshcyjr and pay a $20 fee at the first meeting on Jan. 30. Musicians must furnish their own instruments.
The band plays a mix of contemporary and traditional band arrangements as well as marches, patriotic music, Broadway show tunes and other arrangements. The band will perform one to two concerts during the semester.
High school students age 15 and older with at least one year of band experience also are invited to join with the permission of their band director.
