Marszalek Lecture Series to feature US Naval Academy’s Symonds

Craig L. Symonds, professor of history emeritus at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, will present "Black Americans in the Second World War" on March 9 at 2 p.m. as the keynote speaker for the 2023 Marszalek Lecture Series.

The event will be held in the Charles H. Templeton Sr. Music Museum in Mitchell Memorial Library.

MSU English Department lecturer and history Ph.D. student Amber Morgan Gill, the recipient of the 2023 Marszalek Graduate Student Award, will also speak during the event.

The MSU Libraries is also hosting the Charles H. Templeton Sr. Ragtime and Jazz Music Festival March 22-25. The four-day event begins with the Business of Music Symposium and includes the Gatsby Gala fashion show, educational opportunities, seminars and two nightly concerts.
