The Mississippi State Center for Teaching and Learning’s summer New Faculty Teaching Academy is set for July 24 to Aug. 14.
Taught online three weeks before classes begin, this program is suitable for faculty members with three years or less of teaching experience.
Participants will learn essential strategies for engaging, motivating and communicating with students, as well as the basics of course design and lesson planning. A variety of common teaching challenges will be addressed by experienced MSU faculty members, while short online assignments will assist new faculty in preparing for the upcoming semester.
By completing all the assignments, participants will earn the New Faculty Teaching Academy badge, recognizing their commitment to professional development.
