Neil Price will become the WMSV general manager effective Oct. 1. He remains Learfield/MSU Bulldog Sports Properties’ radio play-by-play announcer and “Voice of the Bulldogs” for MSU football and men’s basketball and host of coaches’ shows, a role he has held since 2017.

A division of MSU’s Office of Public Affairs, WMSV 91.1 FM is the university’s noncommercial, community station providing news, sports and music programming to those within a 70-mile listening area of campus. Since its creation in 1994, the station has won more than 50 state and national awards.

As general manager, Price assumes the responsibility of planning, organizing and supervising broadcasting operations of the radio station.

“Neil has been a great addition to the university community, both as the voice of Bulldog football and men’s basketball, and as an employee at our University Television Center. He is well-positioned to lead WMSV and continue to build on the station’s legacy on campus and in the community,” said David Garraway, associate director of the Office of Public Affairs and UTC director.

In Price’s most recent role as HailState+ manager, which Price has held since March, he has overseen the creation of MSU Athletics content including interviews, features, documentaries, behind-the-scenes footage and more for the premium subscription network operated by Sport & Story.

Price served as the radio broadcaster for women’s basketball and baseball as well as network manager for the University of Kentucky Sports Network from 2005-2017 and as broadcast coordinator at Middle Tennessee State University from 2002-2005.

Since joining MSU, Price also has served as a Department of Communication lecturer for the 2018-2019 year, as well as the MSU University Television Center MSTV manager from 2019-2022.

A Tennessee native, Price received his bachelor’s degree in mass communication and electronic media journalism from MTSU.
