Global Lecture Series hosts sportscaster Erin Andrews during MSU Women’s History Month celebration

STARKVILLE, Miss.—Mississippi State welcomes Emmy-nominated FOX Sports broadcaster Erin Andrews for the university’s Global Lecture Series on March 4 during Women’s History Month.

In a question-and-answer discussion, Andrews will talk about the impact of college on her life, her experiences while working in the sports and entertainment industry, and overcoming obstacles along the way. Set for 6:30 p.m. in Lee Hall’s Bettersworth Auditorium, doors open for the free event at 6 p.m. for students, employees and the public. It is hosted by the MSU Student Association.

Andrews is best known by TV viewers for her feature and sideline reporting on the “FOX NFL Sunday” show which captures an impressive 56.4 million unique viewers weekly. She also reports for “America’s Game of the Week” that, for the past 12 seasons, has been the most-watched show in all of television.

Known too as a celebrity from the hit ABC reality show “Dancing with the Stars,” Andrews was co-host from 2014-2019 after taking third place as a 2010 contestant.

In 2021, Andrews became a podcaster and currently co-hosts “Calm Down with Erin and Charissa,” an unfiltered look at life with friend and fellow FOX Sports reporter Charissa Thompson. Prior to this, in 2019, Andrews added fashion designer to her titles as she launched her women’s NFL apparel line WEAR. The collection’s success has seen it expand since then to the NBA, NCAA, NHL and MLB.

A recipient of the 2022 Pat Summerall Award recognizing her career and community impact, Andrews has received a Vince Lombardi Award of Excellence and a national Gracie Award for individual achievement and programming by, for and about women. She hold’s a bachelor’s degree in telecommunication from the University of Florida.

Each year, the university’s Student Association hosts the Global Lecture, one of the campus’s largest in-person speaker events. Its goal is to host an individual of social, political, and personal influence whose career reflects MSU's ideals and mission statement, helping inspire a new generation of effective leaders.
