MSU receives inaugural Top Colleges for Innovation Award

STARKVILLE, Miss.—Mississippi State is being honored for its commitment to forward-thinking campus solutions, earning a spot on Insight Into Academia’s inaugural “Top Colleges for Innovation” list.
Insight Into Academia, the nation’s longest-running publication dedicated to advancing best practices in higher education, established this award to recognize institutions where innovation is central to the university’s vision, strategy and measurable impact. MSU is the only university in Mississippi and the Southeastern Conference to be featured in the publication's upcoming June issue.
“Innovation is a driving force here and is woven into Mississippi State’s strategy, operations and culture,” said Ra’Sheda Forbes, MSU vice president for access, opportunity, and success. “This distinction further solidifies the ample work our staff and faculty do daily to ensure that we are taking care of our students in the ways they need.”
This achievement reflects a wealth of innovative programming across the university. Key examples include the IDEELab and the Center for Entrepreneurship and Outreach, along with student-focused initiatives like New Maroon Camp and Supplemental Instruction. These programs, among many others, represent MSU’s holistic commitment to reimagining the student experience.
The award highlights institutions with faculty and staff who consistently reimagine teaching, research and administrative practices to meet the evolving needs of both students and employees.
