For more than two decades, Aundrea Self was a trusted presence in homes across northeast Mississippi as an award-winning anchor at WCBI-TV. Now, she brings that same warmth, professionalism and storytelling talent to Mississippi State University’s College of Business, where she serves as director of outreach and engagement.

Since joining the college in January, Self has quickly become the face and voice of several key initiatives. She hosts "The Bulldog Business Show," a monthly video series spotlighting College of Business alumni, students and faculty who are making an impact in their industries and communities. With her natural ability to connect with people, Self draws out inspiring stories that reflect the spirit of MSU Business.

She also is leading the launch of Club 1915, a giving program that honors the year the College of Business was founded. The initiative invites alumni and friends to contribute $19.15 per month to support scholarships, student programs and other strategic priorities.

“I’ve always loved telling people’s stories, and now I get to tell the story of Mississippi State and the College of Business,” Self said. “What excites me is helping people see the impact they can make—whether that’s through sharing their journey on the Bulldog Business Show or by giving back through Club 1915.”

A Starkville native, Self spent 26 years at WCBI-TV, where she anchored the evening news, hosted "MidMorning with Aundrea" and covered historic moments ranging from MSU’s NCAA Final Four runs to a one-on-one interview with then-Sen. Barack Obama. Beyond the newsroom, she served as an adjunct instructor in MSU’s Department of Communication and mentored countless young reporters.

Stepping away from television, she said, was about timing—and family. With a daughter in high school, Self said she wanted a schedule that allowed her to focus on long-term projects while staying rooted in the community she loves.

“I’ve always said I’ll know when the time is right,” she said. “This opportunity lets me use my creativity and storytelling in a new way. I just won’t be doing it on TV.”

Now in McCool Hall, Self continues her lifelong work of connection—building relationships, amplifying success stories and supporting the next generation of Bulldogs.

“I’m excited about the future,” she said. “It’s an honor to help tell the incredible story of MSU Business and to be part of shaping what comes next.”
