Pioneering Performance

This week during Black History Month, MSU’s Lyceum Series presented “Cross that River,” the country rock-inspired musical story honoring America’s first Black cowboys. A large Bettersworth Auditorium audience watched and listened to the story of Blue, a courageous runaway slave who finds refuge and fresh aspirations in Texas, becoming one of the nation's pioneering Black cowboys. Another Lyceum performance this month is Hiplet Ballerinas, who appeared on the TV show “American’s Got Talent,” on Feb. 29, 7 p.
