The Mississippi State men’s basketball team won their Southeastern Conference opener on Saturday [Jan. 4] against the University of South Carolina. Bulldog Guard Cameron Matthews, a graduate student from Olive Branch, scored nine points and had five assists and five rebounds as MSU defeated the Gamecocks 85-50. The Bulldogs will travel to Vanderbilt for an 8 p.m. tip-off on Tuesday.
