Riley Center hosts singer-songwriter Nikki Lane in Aug.
The Mississippi State Riley Center will host singer-songwriter Nikki Lane for a 7 p.m. Aug. 8 concert in Meridian.
Lane is the 2018 Ameripolitan Music Awards winner in the Outlaw Female category and is also an opener for artists such as Chris Stapleton and Marty Stuart.
After breaking through with the hit 2017 album “Highway Queen,” Lane enlisted Joshua Homme of the rock band Queens of the Stone Age to produce her latest album, “Denim & Diamonds.”
The roots-music journal No Depression applauded: “Her brash kiss-offs, lovelorn pleas and plenty of that good old-fashioned American grit come out to play with producer Homme’s thrashing rock and roll sensibility—a deliciously satisfying combo.” Her songs, including “Right Time,” “Jackpot,” “First High,” and “Denim & Diamonds,” are totally relatable and lots of fun.
