STARKVILLE, Miss.—Mississippi State is ready for showtime with this year’s homecoming celebration “Showtime: MSU in the Spotlight.”
The university welcomes the Bulldog family back for a full slate of events during homecoming week to kick off a memorable fall weekend. MSU takes on the University of Massachusetts Amherst Saturday [Nov. 2], 3:15 p.m., at Davis Wade Stadium.
Homecoming events include:
—Monday [Oct. 28], 9 a.m., Tea with Royalty, YMCA Plaza. The homecoming court invites students for free chicken biscuits and loaded teas while supplies last.
—Tuesday [Oct. 29], 6 p.m., Game Show, Dawg House, Colvard Student Union. This event is the Student Association’s twist on crowd-favorite game shows. Snacks will be provided.
—Wednesday [Oct. 30], 11 a.m., The Longest Table, Drill Field. The Student Association event will offer free lunch, fellowship and community building for students, faculty and staff. RSVP on Cowbell Connect.
—Wednesday [Oct. 30], noon-4 p.m. Judging for spirit competitions, door decorations, banners, house and lawn displays. Winners will be announced at the homecoming game.
—Thursday [Oct. 31], 10 a.m.-2 p.m., T-shirt Swap & Soiree, Drill Field. Receive an MSU Homecoming shirt, designed by junior Elizabeth Bond, when donating one. All T-shirts will be donated to the Palmer Home. Enjoy a popcorn bar, balloons from a balloon artist and a stilt walker performance.
—Thursday [Oct. 31], 5:30-7 p.m., Young Alumni Welcome, Fire Station Park, 503 E. Lampkin St. Enjoy live music and drinks sponsored by the MSU Alumni Association.
—Friday [Nov. 1], 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Crowns for a Cause, The Junction. This event offers a chance for students, faculty and staff to learn more about the homecoming king’s and queen’s service initiatives.
—Friday [Nov. 1], 7 p.m., NPHC Homecoming Step Show, Humphrey Coliseum. Chapters of the National Pan-Hellenic Council will host a step show featuring Babyface Ray. Tickets for this event can be purchased starting at $20 here: www.msstate.universitytickets.com.
—Saturday [Nov. 2], 3:15 p.m., Homecoming Football Game, MSU vs. University of Massachusetts Amherst, Davis Wade Stadium. For more, visit www.hailstate.com/feature/gameday.
—Sunday [Nov. 3], 9:30-10 a.m., Nondenominational Service at the Chapel of Memories. Open to all students, this service is sponsored by MSU Office of Parent Services with Rev. Dean Franklin.
—Sunday [Nov. 3], 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Pumpkin Painting, Umble Café at MSU Barnes & Noble will host. All supplies provided.
