Friday morning MSU commencement ceremony moved to 10 a.m.

STARKVILLE, Miss.—Due to strong weather conditions expected Thursday evening and overnight, Mississippi State University is changing the start time of Friday morning’s commencement ceremony at Davis Wade Stadium from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. There are currently no changes expected for the 6:30 p.m. ceremony.

Weather conditions for Friday remain fluid, which could necessitate further changes to the graduation programs. Graduates and their guests should monitor official MSU communication channels, including the MSU website, social media and email, for any additional commencement changes.

Parking shuttles for the Friday morning ceremony will begin running at 8 a.m. and the stadium gates will open at 8:30 a.m. All other ceremony plans are expected to remain the same.

MSU encourages graduates and visitors to use caution and be prepared for potential rainfall during graduation. The stadium concourse can provide shelter as needed during the ceremonies. Concessions, restrooms, hand fans, first aid, and water bottle filling stations will be available in the stadium concourse.

The Friday morning ceremony will honor graduates from MSU’s College of Architecture, Art and Design, College of Arts and Sciences, College of Education, Academic Affairs and the ACCESS program.

The Friday evening ceremony will include graduates from the Bagley College of Engineering, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, College of Business, College of Forest Resources and College of Veterinary Medicine.
